God can take us on an amazing journey if we surrender ourselves to Him each day

I have only been in my new post two and half months, but yet some many doors have been opened and fast developments are being made in the youth work at All Saints. It is all down to God! God is doing exciting work at All Saints and also across Coventry youth work. It is a very exciting time. God has blessed me and Luke by placing us in the midst of it.

God has changed and shaped me loads over the last few months in my role as a youth worker, but also in my role as a wife. Before getting married God gave me a clear image that my change of surname could give me a new found confidence, if I trusted in God and let Him use me. Rather than not doing things, such as schools work and networking with new people, because I feel unable and vulnerable, but letting God take over and use me when I am weak. Wow, God has not let me down yet!

I am just starting to have conversations with getting involved in another school in our parish, to see how I can support them. In December I am going to be doing some lesson work based on Christmas with the yr7's at Bluecoat Secondary School, alongside Coventry Youth For Christ. I am also on the core leadership team for monthly youth worship event for young people in Coventry overseen by YFC, in which we looking to do a social action week (similar to hope) in Coventry. 

I praise God for youth firework social we had last week, which went down really well with the young people. As a result new friendships are being built and the young people are more united as a group.

I ask that you pray for myself and two other people who are going to Eastbourne this weekend for the youth work conference. Pray for save travelling in particular and that God will inspire us. Particularly pray that God will show me His vision for the youth work, and inspire me.

God is good!

I am seeking God's guidance for what doors I should be going down and how I should be using my 20 hrs of work for the church each week.

I have made some good links in the local schools. The school harvest service talk went well. More opportunities have been opened up to work within that and another special needs school. I also started
building new links with the local primary school, and will possibly be doing some classroom work with them in the build up to Christmas. After half-term I hope to start building links with the local secondary school. Praise God for this openings!

I ask for your prayers especially at the moment in time for 3 Point Turn, which is a youth worship (mini soul survivor) on a Sunday evening. It has been running for just over six weeks now. It has been a great blessing to be involved in setting it up and helping to lead it forward. We have eight young people attending and God is really blessing this time we spend together, however we would like to see it grow in number as well as relationships grow in depth.

The other main area of my work at the moment is leading a youth cell at the All Saint's JUST10 events, looking at the 10 commandments over 10 weeks. I have had a good number of young people attending and God has really been challenging a few of them. The idea is that after JUST10 finishes on the 1st December that myself and Luke will re-start up the youth cell group, which stopped meeting earlier in the year. Please pray for this.

As you can see God is good! I have only been working for All Saints for 1 month and 3 weeks, His been opening so many doors. There is no doubt in my mind that this is where God wants me and Luke to be at this moment in time. God continues to pour out his blessings upon us. I pray He will do the same for you!

Seek and you will find. Knock and doors will be open to you

Time is flying past! As I start to network with different organisations within the local area and within the wider city of Coventry. God is opening up new doors and path ways, which is very exciting. God has given me a great sense of His peace, that I am in the right place as I start to feel at home within the congregation.

I continue to pray for vision for my work and God to show me His will. In this He is teaching me patience as I wait for His perfect timing. There is so much potential for reaching out to young people with God's love, but yet limited time. However, God's timing remains perfect.

Saying goodbyes & starting on a new adventure

At the end of a era it is hard to say goodbye and focus on the adventure of a new job ahead.

Looking forward is uncomfortable and worrying, as it makes you vulnerable and the normality's of day to day life will change. However, it is a great place to be in as at these times we rely on God and his strength, which has got me to where I am today. I wait to see what God has in store for me this week. I look for his wisdom and vision for my work at All Saints, which I start on Wednesday (1st September).

How can we be vulnerable and let God take over our lives 100% of the time, rather than when we face change?
